Just finished the reading, and I can conclude that:
in the unbearable lightness of being, Kundera reflects on the idea of lightness/heaviness. He states that while we are crushed by the heaviest burdens, the literature of love affirms woman’s desire to be weighed down by the man’s body.
Thus, at the same time, the most crushing burden also represents the ultimate culmination of desire. The more we are pushed down toward the ground, the truer our lives
Yet without any burdens a person becomes weightless and floats free. No longer bound to the earth he loses his reality and his actions lose their meaning. What will you choose? Weight or lightness? Up to this point, I know exactly your answer. Weight.
